Oishii Haha’s (OHH) first tea collection debuted at the OHH CHA BAR, Europe’s first pure matcha bar. These teas are the pinnacle of Japanese tea production and craft, and have been exclusively brought to London by OHH. They are exceptional examples of traditional and contemporary approaches to tea production, and are expressive of their terroir.
Teas from the OHH CHA BAR 2018/19 collection are available as limited editions for a short time only.
HOSHINO 18 is a brilliant introduction to the breadth of flavour and complexity in matcha. Sweetness, umami and gentle bitterness are well defined and are experienced all in one sip.
Made in the mountains of Yame using the traditional skills and techniques of Kyoto, this produces an excellent matcha with a contemporary flavour and free from convention.
COCO 18 is a masterpiece of traditional matcha blending, made with tea leaves grown under the traditional honzu canopy of reeds and straw.
We named this matcha COCO 18 for its heady white chocolate aromas and smooth, rich mouthfeel.
YOSHI 18-S is a unique matcha made entirely of unblended Samidori green tea leaves grown on a small family-owned farm in the heart of Uji. YOSHII 18-S is an opportunity to taste a seasonal matcha that is also an authentic Uji matcha.
Hojicha is typically an everyday tea, but in this case the selective use of stems (kuki) from prized green teas and careful blending has produced an exceptional example of its category.
KUKI HOJICHA 18 has been expertly roasted, resulting in a satisfying toasty notes with a lovely long and smooth finish.
This classic style of green tea is made by one of the best tea producers in Japan. This is a pure expression of the misty Yame landscape as a single Okuyutaka cultivar. SENCHA 18 is a partially shade-grown tea, adding a deeper umami and richer colour.
