YOSHI 18-E Matcha
YOSHI 18–Eis an unconventional matcha that doesn't follow the practices of traditional matcha production in Japan. This matcha is seasonal, and made entirely from the Saemidori tea leaves grown and produced by a small family tea producer in Uji, Kyoto prefecture.
Spring 2018 was a fantastic harvest, resulting in a very graceful YOSHI 18-E that's smooth with lots of sweet umami and zero bitterness. There's a softness in the mouthfeel we liken to chestnuts.
This is testament to our producer's farming skills, yielding a luscious matcha that's unblended, and made entirely from one cultivar grown in a small corner of their tea farm. If there's a grand cru of tea, this little patch of Uji would be it.
